The APS12625 is a 2D Hall-effect speed and direction sensor IC optimized for use with ring magnets in automotive and industrial applications. It integrates planar and vertical Hall elements to provide quadrature-like outputs without requiring target optimization, and supports XY, ZX, and ZY magnetic sensing orientations. The device operates from 2.8 to 5.5 V, is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0 for junction temperatures up to 175°C, and features output short-circuit protection. It is packaged in a 5-pin SOT23-W (LH) surface-mount package and includes a power-on state feature that restores correct operation after power cycling. The part is ASIL A compliant when used as specified in the safety manual.
