Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning Group Warren Micron Polycrystalline and Ultra-Detonted Diamond Type 1

Description
Polycrystalline and UDD (ultra-detonated diamond) superabrasives are produced instantaneously in a controlled explosion known as shock synthesis. The resulting PC grains are extremely fine, typically <0.0254µm and are suitable for critical polishing applications such as gem stone and magnetic head finishing. Features: Explosion compaction synthesis of graphite to diamond Hexagonal microcrystallites (10 - 200å) are compacted to make powders ranging from 0.1μm to 50μm Blocky (3-D body) uniform shaped crystals with extreme rough surfaces (self sharpening mechanism) Strong microcrystallites Moderate-lower impact strength than MB diamond due to its synthesis process
