Some catalyst carriers in this series are available in monomodal or bi-modal or pore options. For many years, Saint-Gobain NorPro has been known for its range of very low surface area macroporous alpha-alumina-based carrier materials. Inert to their environment in most circumstances, the carriers play a vitally active role in many catalytic reactions. Other low-surface area catalyst carrier materials include silica, alumina-silica, zirconia, titania, silica, and silicon carbide. Saint-Gobain NorPro also offers a range of attrition-resistant, porous, low-surface area fluidizable aluminas as the basis of active and stable fluid bed catalysts. Particle sizes from 50 to 120 micron are available, with silica contents from 0 to 10%
