Saint-Gobain NorPro Denstone® High-Alumina Bed Support Denstone® 99

Description
Denstone® 99 high-alumina support media are 99+% alpha alumina and a maximum of 0.2 wt% SiO2. This high degree of purity makes Denstone 99 alumina balls ideal for high-temperature systems with an influx of steam such as secondary reformers in ammonia plants where leached silica might coat downstream equipment or poison the catalyst. The special formulation of Denstone 99 media also provides maximum resistance to thermal shock and erosion. In fixed-bed catalyst reactors, its monolithic structure eliminates in-service spalling and delamination and prevents the incidence of fine chips or splinters that may plug the catalyst bed or interfere with process mechanisms. The product's high density and thermal conductivity make it the medium of choice for heat transfer.
