CHR HM350 is a skived, high modulus PTFE pressure sensitive adhesive tape designed for high-temperature applications. It features a modified PTFE film that has reduced elongation and increased breaking strength, making it easier to handle. The tape is coated on one side with a high-temperature silicone adhesive, while the other side provides a low coefficient of friction PTFE surface. This construction ensures excellent resistance to high temperatures and chemical inertness, making it suitable for various demanding environments. The tape has a total thickness of 0.089 mm (3.5 mil) and a backing thickness of 0.051 mm (2.0 mil). It exhibits an adhesion to steel of 2.7 N/cm (25 oz/in) and a tensile strength of 44 N/cm (25 lb/in). The operating temperature range is from -73 to +260 ¬8C (-100 to +500 ¬8F), with a dielectric strength of 8,000 volts. CHR HM350 is available in master log form and can be slit to various widths, making it versatile for different applications. Common applications include masking during metal bonding, roll covering on plastic extruders, and use in fine wire harness repair shops, as well as in industries that utilize thermal spraying.
CHR HM350 is manufactured from modified high-modulus PTFE film coated with high-temperature silicone adhesive. The PTFE film is subjected to a special process that lowers its elongation and increases its breaking strength for easier handling.
