Saint-Gobain’s #170 is a white fused magnesium aluminate powder that is blocky in shape. This powder produces high thermal shock resistant coatings that are suitable for the re-surfacing of parts. These coatings resist wetting by liquid aluminum, making #170 powders ideal for resurfacing molds, ladles, ladle plugs, ladle lips & other furnace parts. The product is also used for coating oxygen sensors to protect against gas erosion with controlled permeability.
