The MOC216 is an optoisolator consisting of a gallium arsenide infrared LED optically coupled to a silicon phototransistor in a standard SOIC-8 surface mount package with 0.050-inch lead spacing. It provides 3000 Vac (rms) input-output isolation and supports collector current up to 150 mA with a collector-emitter voltage rating of 30 V. The current transfer ratio ranges from 500% to 800% at an input current of 1 mA and collector-emitter voltage of 5 V, with a saturation voltage of 0.35 V to 0.4 V. The device is rated for operation from -45°C to +100°C and complies with UL 94 V-0 and is UL recognized under File #E90700, Volume 2. It is compatible with dual wave, vapor phase, and IR reflow soldering.
