The LM2679S-3.3-NS is a monolithic integrated circuit designed as a step-down (buck) switching regulator capable of delivering up to 5 A of output current. It operates efficiently with a typical efficiency exceeding 90%, utilizing a low ON-resistance DMOS power switch. This regulator supports a wide input voltage range from 8 V to 40 V and provides a fixed output voltage of 3.3 V with a maximum output tolerance of ±2% under full line and load conditions. The device features a fixed frequency internal oscillator operating at 260 kHz, which allows for the use of smaller external components. It includes a soft-start capability to limit input surge current during power-on, as well as built-in thermal shutdown and a resistor-programmable current limit ranging from 3 A to 7 A to protect against fault conditions.
