The RT8096B is a synchronous step-down DC/DC converter designed for high efficiency, with an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V and an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 3.4V, capable of delivering up to 1A of output current. It features a Current Mode Constant-On-time (CMCOT) control architecture, which optimizes transient response and loop stability, particularly with low-ESR output capacitors. The device includes internal synchronous power switches that enhance efficiency and eliminate the need for an external Schottky diode, achieving efficiencies of up to 95%. Additional protective features include cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, input under-voltage lockout, output under-voltage protection with hiccup mode, and thermal shutdown protection. The RT8096B is available in SOT-23-6 packaging and is suitable for applications such as set-top boxes, cable modems, LCD TV power supplies, and general-purpose point-of-load applications.
