The RT6296DGJ8F is a synchronous step-down DC/DC converter designed for high efficiency, capable of delivering up to 2A output current. It operates within a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 17V and features integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs with on-resistances of 100mOc and 40mOc, respectively. The device employs current mode control for fast transient response and includes comprehensive protection features such as input under-voltage lockout, output under-voltage protection, over-current protection, and thermal shutdown. The switching frequency is fixed at 800kHz but can be synchronized to an external clock ranging from 200kHz to 2MHz. The RT6296DGJ8F also supports a power save mode for light load conditions and offers an external soft-start function to mitigate inrush current during startup. It is packaged in a compact TSOT-23-8 (FC) format, making it suitable for applications in industrial and commercial low power systems, computer peripherals, LCD monitors, TVs, and set-top boxes.
