The X1226S8 is a Real Time Clock (RTC) from Quarktwin Technology Ltd. that features a clock/calendar capable of tracking time in hours, minutes, seconds, and includes the day of the week, day, month, and year. It incorporates two polled alarms that are non-volatile and can be set for various time intervals, including second, minute, hour, day of the week, day, or month, with a repeat mode for periodic interrupts. This device includes an integrated 512 x 8 bits of EEPROM with a 64-byte page write mode and supports single-byte write capability. It offers high reliability with data retention of up to 100 years and an endurance of 100,000 cycles per byte. The X1226S8 operates on a 2-Wire,Ñ¢ interface compatible with I2C, achieving a data transfer rate of 400 kHz. The clock features oscillator compensation with an internal feedback resistor and compensation capacitors, along with a digitally controlled trim capacitor for frequency adjustments.
