The ISL83491IB-T is a full duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Quarktwin Technology Ltd. It operates on a single +3.3V power supply with a tolerance of 10%, making it suitable for various applications requiring balanced communication. This device supports data rates up to 10 Mbps and is designed to be interoperable with 5V logic levels, accommodating signals exceeding 5.5V on its logic inputs. The ISL83491IB-T features a "fail-safe if open" design for its receiver inputs, ensuring a logic high output when the inputs are floating. It presents a single unit load to the RS-485 bus, allowing for up to 32 transceivers on the network. The driver outputs are protected against short circuits and include thermal shutdown circuitry to prevent damage from excessive power dissipation.
