The ISL83088EIUZ-T is a half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for balanced communication. The device supports data rates up to 10 Mbps and presents a low bus current of +125µA/-75µA, allowing for a true 1/8 unit load, which enables connection of up to 256 devices on the bus without the need for repeaters. The transceiver includes a full fail-safe design for receiver inputs, ensuring a logic high output when inputs are floating, shorted, or terminated but undriven.
