The ISL6520ACBZ-T is a single synchronous buck pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller designed for DC/DC step-down converters. The controller drives N-Channel MOSFETs in a synchronous buck topology and integrates control, output adjustment, monitoring, and protection functions into an 8-lead package. This device features a simple single-loop voltage-mode control design, a fixed frequency oscillator at 300kHz, and a high-bandwidth error amplifier with a 15MHz gain-bandwidth product, enabling fast transient response and duty cycles from 0% to 100%. Overcurrent protection is achieved through monitoring the rDS(ON) of the upper MOSFET, eliminating the need for a current sense resistor, which enhances efficiency and simplifies design.
