The device operates from a single 3.3V supply and includes an on-board charge pump that generates RS-232 compliant ±5V output levels. The transceiver is equipped with ±15kV ESD protection on bus pins, ensuring robust performance in electrically noisy environments. It supports data rates of up to 400kbps for RS-232 and up to 20Mbps for RS-485, with a user-selectable slew rate for the RS-485 port to accommodate different communication speeds.
