The HIP6012CB-T is a buck and synchronous-rectifier pulse-width modulator (PWM) controller designed for high-performance microprocessor applications. It drives two N-Channel MOSFETs in a synchronous-rectified buck topology and integrates control, output adjustment, monitoring, and protection functions into a single package. This controller can regulate output voltage as low as 1.27V with a tolerance of ±1.5% across temperature and line voltage variations. It features a simple single feedback loop, voltage-mode control with fast transient response, and a 200kHz free-running triangle-wave oscillator adjustable from below 50kHz to over 1MHz. The error amplifier has a gain-bandwidth product of 15MHz and a slew rate of 6V/µs, allowing for high converter bandwidth and fast transient performance. The HIP6012CB-T includes overcurrent protection by inhibiting PWM operation and monitors current using the rDS(ON) of the upper MOSFET, eliminating the need for an additional current sensing resistor. It operates from a +5V or +12V input and is available in 14-pin SOIC and TSSOP packages, with Pb-free options compliant with RoHS standards.
