RAD Data Communications, Inc.Internet Access RoutersWEB RANger
Description
FEATURES
WEB RANger is a compact Internet access router that connects a small- to medium-sized network to the Internet, utilizing asynchronous, synchronous, DDS, ISDN, and Frame Relay services.
IP and IPX routing over PPP is implemented opposite any third party router. (See Application).
WAN interfaces supported are:
– – – – –
Asynchronous dial-up modems operating at data rates from 2.4 kbps to 115.2 kbps Synchronous leased lines at data rates up to 1.5 Mbps Integrated ISDN basic rate terminal adapter Integrated CSU/DSU for DDS leased lines Internal Frame Relay operating at data rates up to 1.5 Mbps with auto learn of DLCI and maintenance protocol
LAN interfaces supported are 10Base2, 10BaseT and AUI.
Multilink PPP support enables use of ISDN at 128 kbps.
Quick setup is performed via a terminal emulator attached to the control port, or by using TELNET access into the device over the LAN or WAN.
HTTP configuration can be performed using a standard Web browser.
Security features:
– – –
Internet Access authentication provided by PAP/CHAP and integral Scripting Tool Solid Firewall to protect an office LAN from undesired entry from the Internet Undesired Access to the WEB RANger via TELNET or SNMP can be blocked or password protected.
The Single IP address translation feature allows a small or medium office LAN to connect to the Internet using a single, dynamically or statically allocated IP address from the central access router.
Connection On Demand (COD) allows the LAN to be connected to, or disconnected from, the Internet over ISDN or dial-up modems, according to timeout, traffic or management.
An SNMP agent provides management by RADview or any other standard SNMP management station.
Software downloading is available via the control port using XMODEM, and via LAN or WAN using TFTP. Parameter file downloading and uploading is available via LAN or WAN using TFTP.
