OPTIMUX-4E1/4E1L -- FOUR E1 CHANNEL PDH MULTIPLEXER
RAD Data Communications, Inc.Four E1 Channel PDH MultiplexerOptimux-4E1/4E1L
Description
FEATURES
Optimux-4E1 is a multiplexer combining up to four E1 channels over a single coax or fiber optic E2 link. A pair of Optimux-4E1 units offers simple and low-cost connectivity for four E1 channels at distances up to 75 km (46 miles).
Various optical interfaces are available:
850 nm for multimode fiber LED
1300 nm for single mode fiber LED
1300 and 1550 nm laser for extended range over single mode fiber.
An optional second link provides backup using automatic switchover upon link failure.
An optional second power supply provides power redundancy and fail-safe operation.
Optimux-4E1 transmits each of the E1 channels independently, such that the clock of each E1 channel is independent of the clock of any other E1 channel. The E1 interface can be 75( unbalanced or 120( balanced.
Optimux-4E1 is also available as a card for the LRS-24 19" rack with central SNMP management. This option will provide a compact cost-effective central solution.
To facilitate system diagnostics, Optimux-4E1 features LED status indicators, AIS alarm generation, recognition and dry contact closure upon link failure.
Configuration, monitoring and maintenance can be performed using an ASCII terminal or a SLIP connection to an SNMP management station. Optimux-4E1in the LRS-24 rack can also be configured, maintained and monitored using Ethernet, via the CL-2 card.
The SNMP management supports:
RADview-PC running on PC/Windows
RADview-HPOV running on anHP OpenView UNIX platform.
A voice service channel is available for end-to-end communication between maintenance personnel (available with fiber optic link only).
The standalone Optimux-4E1 is available as a compact 1U high unit for mounting in a 19" rack.
Multiplexes four E1 channels over a single E2 link
E2 transmission over coax or fiber optic cable
Operates with multimode or single mode fiber
Laser diode option
Range up to 75 km (46 miles)
Voice service channel
Conforms to ITU G.703, G.742, G.823, G.956
