Our 5146 series features the standard, domestic, 3-prong, North American Plug (NEMA 5-15P) with a Shielded ROJ Special. These North American power cords are ideal for powering your custom equipment. This power cord will plug into the standard North American wall outlet or NEMA 5-15R receptacle on one end and will hard-wire into your equipment on the other end. Shielded wire uses a conductive lining to disperse any external electromagnetic interference and reduce any internal high-frequency noise. This protects the flow of electricity from electromagnetic fields created by other devices, and also protects the external environment from any electromagnetic field created by the power cord itself. A Special Shielded ROJ (Removed Outer Jacket) occurs when a portion of the outer jacket has been removed from a power cord that has insulated or double-insulated foil. These cords will feature a drain wire alongside stripped conductors of varying lengths that may include special terminals: ring, quick disconnect, flag, spade, etc ... The 5146.042S carries the UL and C-UL approvals and is rated at 13A - 125V.
