The ProLinx family EtherNet/IP to ASCII Generic Serial communications module creates a powerful connection between devices on an EtherNet/IP network and ASCII devices. The module is a stand-alone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway that provides a single Ethernet port and up to four ASCII configurable serial ports.
The ASCII protocol driver permits the module to interface to many ASCII devices. Each ASCII port on the module is configurable to send and/or receive ASCII strings, each supporting its own individual serial network.
The Ethernet/IP (DFNT) protocol driver supports the Explicit Messaging implementation of the protocol. User-configurable as both a Client and a Server, the EtherNet/IP port is a very powerful data transfer tool.
