Details
Built-in protection against reverse polarity, ESD, and transient over-voltage
Operates over a broad supply voltage range
Push-pull output (sourcing/sinking up to 100mA) suitable for directly driving small loads
Optional fail-safe PWM output
Available in standard and extended temperature versions
Choice of Polysulfone or Trogamid housing
Internal or external mounting options
High-pressure variant available
SST’s Optomax Digital Liquid Level Switch is designed for compact applications that require a miniature, cost-effective, and low-power sensing solution. This solid-state level switch, microcontroller-base
d sensor uses an infrared LED and phototransistor, optically coupled when dry. Once the tip is submerged in liquid, the infrared beam disperses, prompting a change in the sensor’s output state. It accurately detects a wide range of oil- and water-based liquids and remains unaffected by ambient light, foam in air, or bubbles in liquid. The TTL-compatible push-pull output supports sourcing or sinking up to 100mA within a 4.5–15.4V DC range. Users can configure the signal to switch high or low depending on wet or dry conditions. An optional fail-safe PWM version is also available, operating within a 4.5–5.5V DC range. Available in robust, chemically resistant housings—Polysulfone for general use, or Trogamid for food and beverage applications—the Optomax Digital switch can be mounted internally or externally and is offered in both standard (-25 to +80°C) and extended (-40 to +125°C) temperature ranges although these liquid level switches can be used in other applications.
