PolyMed® combines lightweight materials and strong physical characteristics, as well as radiolucent and dielectric properties, thin walls, rigidity and the ability to be sterilized. PolyMed® composite medical tubing meets this stringent criteria, while at the same time being competitive in price to stainless steel. Thermally insulating Unlike steel tubing, composites are comfortable to the touch and ready for immediate use without warming. Autoclaveable Unlike plastic tubing, Polygon medical composites can withstand a standard steam autoclave, yet are affordable enough to be disposable too. Better than steel Polygon composite tubing has a higher strength to weight ratio than steel. Smaller composite cannulas are possible due to this increased strength.
