In collaboration with the Swedish Elekta Group, we have developed a ring-shaped collimator block made from the tungsten heavy alloy Densimet®. Hundreds of beam channels guide the gamma radiation with pinpoint accuracy to a focal point. Every year, more than 50,000 patients benefit from this exceptionally precise radiosurgery. Densimet® provides optimum shielding properties against radiation and protects healthy tissue. The excellent machinability of our Densimet® grades gives us the opportunity to produce highly complex geometries and satisfy the highest requirements on tolerances.
