Aluminum oval sleeves are designed to hold beyond the break strength of the cable. Sleeves should be crimped directly on the cable, not on the coating, A sleeve crimped on a coated cable is only as strong as the coating. For maximum hold, a large press is used for assembly. Hand crimp tools serve many applications, but generally do not produce an assembly which exceeds the breaking strength of the cable.
