The Pickering Series 200 is a family of surface mount reed relays, including a 50Ω coaxial variant (200RF50-1-A-5/2D) rated for 10 watts at 200V with a 5V coil, operate time of 0.5 ms, and release time of 0.2 ms. The relay features SoftCenter construction, an encapsulated plastic package with internal mu-metal shielding, insulation resistance greater than 10¹² ohms, and is suitable for reflow soldering. Dimensions are 17.25 mm × 15.25 mm × 6.0 mm. It supports dry contact switching and is designed for RF applications up to 5 GHz with a step response under 30 ps.
The Series 200 is a complete range of surface mount reed relays. Both dry and mercury wetted switches are available in a wide range of configurations including coaxial types for RF up to 5GHz, or high speed digital switching with a step response time of less than 30ps. The special high temperature plastic package will withstand the temperatures associated with Infra-red or vapour phase reflow soldering processes. A flexible inner encapsulant protects the sensitive glass/metal reed switch seals - this is a very big advantage over the more usual hard moulded package.
