The Pickering Series 200 is a range of surface mount reed relays with a plastic encapsulated package and internal mu-metal shielding for side-by-side mounting without magnetic interaction. The 200-1-A-12/1D variant is a 1 Form A dry reed relay with a 12 V coil, featuring an internal diode, an insulation resistance greater than 10^12 ohms, and a contact rating of 10 watts at 500 V. It supports switching operations up to 10^8 cycles with a typical operate time of 0.5 ms and release time of 0.2 ms. The package is compatible with infrared or vapor phase reflow soldering and measures 17.25 x 15.25 x 6.0 mm. Capacitance across the open switch is 0.1 pF, and across the closed switch is 2.5 pF.
The Series 200 is a complete range of surface mount reed relays. Both dry and mercury wetted switches are available in a wide range of configurations including coaxial types for RF up to 5GHz, or high speed digital switching with a step response time of less than 30ps. The special high temperature plastic package will withstand the temperatures associated with Infra-red or vapour phase reflow soldering processes. A flexible inner encapsulant protects the sensitive glass/metal reed switch seals - this is a very big advantage over the more usual hard moulded package.
