The Pickering Series 100-2-A-5/2D is a 2 Form A single-in-line reed relay with a 5 V coil, internal diode, and low-level switching contacts rated for 10 W at 200 V. It features SoftCenter construction, thermal EMF of approximately 1 µV or less, insulation resistance greater than 10¹² Ω, and an internal mu-metal magnetic screen. The device is designed for direct drive from CMOS logic and is suitable for battery-powered or low-current applications. The relay has a typical operate time of 1.0 ms and a capacitance of 3.5 pF across the closed switch and 0.1 pF across the open switch. It is packaged in a plastic case with specified dimensions of 24.1 mm in length and 10.2 mm in width.
The Pickering Series 100 is a complete range of Single-in- Line (SIL) reed relays primarily intended for direct drive from 4000B CMOS or NMOS logic or similar low current sources. The mercury wetted relays in the range may be driven directly from TTL logic.
They are also useful for applications where conservation of current is important, for example, battery powered equipment.
The extremely low level of thermal EMF, about 1 microvolt or less, of the dry versions make them ideally suited to applications such as data acquisition or thermocouple switching.
An internal mu-metal magnetic screen is fi tted to avoid the effects of magnetic interaction between relays.
