SOA-8143-16 is a thru-hole unthreaded standoff designed for use in aluminum sheets with a hardness rating of HRB 50 or HB 82 or less. This standoff utilizes a self-clinching design, allowing it to be permanently mounted in metal sheets as thin as 0.025 inches (0.63 mm). The SOA type is particularly suited for applications requiring spacing between panels or components. It is important to note that the installation requires a properly sized round hole for effective clinching. The standoff is made from hardened stainless steel, providing durability and resistance to corrosion, especially when used in environments where nickel plating is beneficial. Custom sizes are available upon request, making it adaptable for various engineering needs.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
Unthreaded standoffs are also available for spacing multi-panel assemblies.
