The SO4-8632-14 is a thru-hole threaded standoff designed for installation into stainless steel sheets with a minimum thickness of 0.040 inches. This product utilizes a self-clinching design, allowing for permanent mounting in thin materials. It is made from specially hardened stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance similar to 300 series stainless steel, making it suitable for applications exposed to corrosive environments. The standoff features internal threads for secure attachment and is compatible with various mounting configurations. It is important to ensure proper installation techniques to avoid issues such as thread binding, which can occur due to galling in stainless steel.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
