The FHS-M6-15 is a self-clinching threaded stud designed for permanent installation in sheets of aluminum, steel, or stainless steel with a thickness as thin as 0.020 inches (0.51 mm). This product features a flush head that allows for a smooth surface finish and is particularly suited for applications where space is limited. The FHS type is recommended for use in steel or aluminum sheets with a Rockwell hardness (HRB) of 70 or less and a Brinell hardness (HB) of 125 or less, ensuring compatibility with softer materials. The stud provides high torque-out and pushout resistances, making it a reliable choice for demanding applications. Installation is straightforward, requiring only a standard press to embed the stud securely into the sheet.
PEM® self-clinching studs are installed by placing them in properly sized holes in the sheets and squeezing into place with any standard press. The squeezing action embeds the head of the stud into the sheet. The metal displaced by the head flows smoothly and evenly around the ribs and into the annular groove – creating a flushhead assembly and securely locking the stud into the sheet with high torque-out and pushout resistances.
FH (flush-head) studs are available in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. They are also available unthreaded on special order.
