The BSOS-8632-20 is a blind threaded standoff designed for self-clinching applications, suitable for mounting, spacing, or stacking panels and components. It is specifically engineered to be pressed into round holes in metal sheets as thin as 0.050 inches (1.27 mm). This standoff features a unified thread size of 8-32, providing a robust connection point while ensuring that the outer surface remains flush and closed after installation. The design allows for permanent mounting, making it ideal for applications where a secure and unobtrusive fastening solution is required. The BSOS series is particularly noted for its increased wall thickness, which enhances the bearing surface and reduces the risk of cracking or cutting into the board. This product is suitable for use in various metal materials, including stainless steel, and is available with optional nickel plating for corrosion resistance.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
