The MC74ACT257N is a quad 2-input multiplexer featuring 3-state outputs, allowing for the selection of four bits of data from two sources via a common data select input. When the select input is LOW, the device outputs data from the I0 inputs, and when HIGH, it outputs from the I1 inputs. The outputs are presented in true (noninverted) form and can be switched to a high impedance state by applying a logic HIGH to the output enable (OE) input, facilitating direct interfacing with bus-oriented systems. The device supports multiplexer expansion by tying outputs together and is designed to source or sink up to 24 mA. The MC74ACT257N is TTL compatible and is available in Pb-free packaging.
