The MC33033DWG is a monolithic brushless DC motor controller designed for open loop control of three or four phase motors. It operates within a voltage range of 10 to 30 V and features a rotor position decoder for accurate commutation sequencing. The device includes a temperature-compensated reference that can supply sensor power, a frequency programmable sawtooth oscillator, and a fully accessible error amplifier suitable for closed loop servo applications. Key protective features of the MC33033DWG include undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limiting with a selectable time-delayed latched shutdown mode, and internal thermal shutdown. It supports motor control functions such as open loop speed control, forward or reverse direction, and run enable. The controller is capable of managing brushless motors with electrical sensor phasings of 60¬8/300¬8 or 120¬8/240¬8, and can also efficiently control brush DC motors when paired with an external MOSFET H-bridge. The MC33033DWG is available in a Pb-free SO-20L package and is AEC-Q100 qualified, making it suitable for automotive applications.
