The MC14490DW is a hex contact bounce eliminator IC designed to eliminate extraneous level changes when interfacing with mechanical contacts. It generates a clean digital signal four clock periods after the input has stabilized, effectively removing bounce on both the "make" and "break" of a contact closure. The device features six debouncers per package and includes diode protection on all inputs, as well as internal pull-ups on all data inputs. The MC14490DW operates with a supply voltage range of 3.0 V to 18 V and can utilize an internal R-C oscillator or an external clock source for operation. It is TTL compatible and can be cascaded for longer time delays. The device is constructed with complementary MOS enhancement mode devices and is RoHS compliant, making it suitable for various applications, including automotive, as indicated by its AEC-Q100 qualification. The package options include SOIC-16, PDIP-16, and SOEIAJ-16.
