The FPF2194 is a full-function load switch designed to provide protection for systems and loads that may experience large current conditions. It features a 55 mOc current-limited P-channel MOSFET, operating within an input voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5 V. The device allows for an adjustable current limit from 0.1 A to 1.5 A, with a minimum limit settable as low as 45 mA. The FPF2194 includes thermal shutdown protection to prevent damage from excessive heating during continuous over-current conditions. If the current limit is reached, the device operates in constant-current mode, and if the condition persists for more than 30 ms, it shuts off the switch and pulls the fault signal pin (FLAGB) low. Unlike the FPF2193, the FPF2194 does not have an auto-restart feature, requiring the ON pin to be cycled to reset the switch. This component is housed in a compact six-ball WLCSP package measuring 0.98 x 1.48 mm, making it suitable for space-constrained applications such as PDAs, cell phones, handheld GPS devices, and portable medical equipment.
