Ultra-Micro Output Air Operated PurgeX for Liquid or Grease has the ability to deliver extremely fine, precise amounts of lubricant with each cycle. It has the same characteristics as standard PurgeX, but uses a smaller diameter piston. This results in a very fine degree of control over a greatly reduced output volume. It is particularly adept for use with near-dry machining. Precise volumetric delivery is achieved with the positive displacement design. There is no “after drip,” which makes PurgeX a very effective lubrication solution where product contamination is a concern.
This PurgeX is operated with compressed air between 40 to 120 PSI. It can be used with liquid or grease grades 00, 0, 1 and 2. The body is made of anodized aluminum alloy and the unit tolerates temperatures from -15° F to 180° F. Viton seals are used. The liquid/grease delivery per cycle is adjustable between 0 to .0012 cubic inches. The piston diameter is .125” and can travel as much as .100” per stroke. The air and liquid inlet are both 1/8” female NPT. Each feed has a 1/8” female NPT outlet. This is a 10 feed unit that is 13 1/4” in length and 4.13” in height. There is a 9/32” dia mounting hole on each feed.
For applications with multiple feed points, internal Threadapter connections provide common air and lubricant lines for all PurgeX pumps in the same manifold. Each PurgeX in the manifold operates as an individual pump with a separate adjustment for lubricant delivery per cycle. It is easy to connect additional PurgeX pumps. Lubricant delivery can be completely shut off at any time by adjusting the piston to the fully closed position.
The self-priming PurgeX will fill lines with lubricant automatically. A vacuum pulls liquid into the PurgeX chamber with each cycle. The piston ratio is 25:1, which converts relatively low inlet pressure from standard shop air into a much greater outlet pressure. Any entrapped air and other impurities are automatically purged from the system when the piston slightly over-travels the pump chamber with each cycle. The net result is the ability to reliably deliver an exact amount of lubricant.
Additional requirements include a reservoir, 3-way solenoid valve, timer or sequence signal, and tubing and fittings.
