OHP, Inc. Ornamental Herbicide Fortress

Description
Fortress is a pre-emergent granular herbicide for control of weeds in nursery containers and field grown ornamentals. Formulated on the engineered Verge® granule, Fortress produces virtually no dust and low odor, resulting in improved worker safety and ease of application. Applicators are required to wear minimal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — long sleeved shirt, pants, water-proof gloves, and socks plus shoes. Fortress has a CAUTION signal word and a 12-hour REI. Fortress controls a wide range of both grassy and broadleaf weeds by creating a barrier in the soil. Fortress works by inhibiting cell division and disrupting cell wall formation in roots and shoots of emerging weed seedlings. Irrigate new plantings before Fortress application with ½in. water to ensure settled and firm soil around the root system. For best results, apply Fortress prior to rainfall or irrigate with approximately ½in. of water. Broadcast Fortress uniformly over ornamental containers or field soil at the rate of 150 lbs./acre. To prevent weed escapes, do not disturb the soil or media in Fortress treated areas; this will disrupt the herbicidal barrier necessary for successful weed control. Labeled for use on: Container and field grown ornamentals. Labeled Plants: Fortress has shown excellent plant tolerance on a wide variety of ornamentals. Please read the label for the full list. Crops not listed as tolerant to Fortress should be evaluated on a small scale for 30-60 days after application for herbicide injury prior to widespread application. Packaging: 50 pound bag Notes: Do not apply to wet foliage. Fortress is a pre-emergent herbicide and will not control established weeds. Fortress is not labeled for use on vegetable or edible fruit crops, turf, and bedding plants. Avoid application to plants that can channel herbicide to the leaf base. See label for additional restrictions and precautions.
