Medium wire (usually larger than .050” / 1.25mm in diameter) and Heavy wire (usually larger than .250” / 6.25mm in diameter ) usually consists of stronger materials with higher tensile values which can accommodate a much more “rugged” method of handling and needing less delicate controls. Medium & heavy duty wire may be supplied in Spools, Coils, Reels, and Bars. Coils and Reels can sometimes weigh several thousand pounds.
