The PG-24-2 Precision Grade Modal Damped Honeycomb Core Optical Breadboard has a 2 ft. width, a 4 ft. length, and is 2.3 in. thick with 1/4-20 holes on 1 in. grid. The PG Series provides rock-solid stability and rigidity to support demanding research applications. It demonstrates an outstanding surface flatness of <±0.004 in. over 2 ft.2 . The PG Breadboard also offers a 3/16 in. ferromagnetic steel mounting surface, patented modal damping, sealed holes, steel honeycomb core, and self-damping side panels. Modal Damping Technology What makes PG series breadboard the top performance in the industry is an advanced technology called modal damping. This patented technology (US 6,598,545) utilizes two pieces of uniquely designed dampers combined using specially chosen elastomers, to dissipate the vibrations evenly, quickly and effectively. The modal dampers are installed as the side panels along the four sides of the optical breadboard, ensuring the superior damping performance. Trussed Honeycomb Core with Unmatched Stiffness Our trussed honeycomb core design maximizes an optical breadboard's rigidity to weight ratio by using an additional steel member to bridge across the center of the honeycomb cells. This design enables a triple core interface at each hexagonal honeycomb cell that is vertically bonded along the height of the core.
