C17500/C17510 offer a combination of high electrical and thermal conductivity with good strength compared to most copper based alloys. C17500 alloy is the mirror image of alloy C17510 in terms of its properties and characteristics. The alloys differ in that C17500 specifies a cobalt alloying addition (2.40-2.70 %) and alloy 17510 specifies a nickel alloying addition (1.40-2.20 %), but their performance are the same.
Primarily utilized in applications that require high thermal or electric conductivity. The alloy offers good strength and hardness characteristics coupled with conductivity in the range of 45-60 percent of copper with ultimate tensile and hardness properties approaching 140 ksi and RB 100 respectively.
Typical Uses for C17500 Beryllium Copper:
Economical high strength, high conductivity copper base alloy. It is a heat treatable copper base alloy and its excellent properties are obtained largely through heat treatment. Its properties combine high hardness, strength and wear resistance with relatively high electrical and thermal conductivity.

Leaded Commercial Bronze C31400 combines the natural corrosion resistance of C22000 with the machinability typical of leaded brasses. Like C22000, it is an alpha brass nominally composed of 89% copper and 9% zinc, but it also contains approximately 2% lead to impart free-cutting characteristics. The relatively low zinc content of C31400 provides excellent corrosion resistance in potable water along with a pleasing golden color that matches C22000 hardware. Alloy C31400 is also suitable for outdoor use due to its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and to corrosion in general, but where the highest strength is not required.
Typical Uses for C31400 Leaded Commercial Bronze:
Nickel Bearing C31600 is composed of approximately 89% copper, 8% zinc, and 2% lead, but also contains 1% nickel. This alloy combines the natural corrosion resistance and machinability of C31400 with a higher tensile and yield strength resulting from the controlled addition of nickel. The relatively low zinc content provides excellent corrosion resistance in potable water along with a pleasing golden color that matches C22000 hardware. It also possesses a particular resistance to stress corrosion cracking. It is an alloy suitable for outdoor use where higher strength is required.
Typical Uses for C31600 Nickel Leaded Commercial Bronze:
C36000 Free Machining Brass / Free Cutting Brass is ideally suited for high speed machining operations with its superior machinability, thread rolling and knurling characteristics. Its machinability rating of 100 is standard against which all other copper alloys are rated. It is easily soldered or brazed and has good resistance to corrosion.
Typical Uses for C36000 Free Machining Brass / Free Cutting Brass:
Naval Brass C46400 is nominally composed of 60% copper, 39.2% zinc and 0.8% tin. As is typical of brass alloys with the duplex alpha + beta structure, C46400 has good strength and rigidity. By substituting tin for an equal quantity of zinc, a high corrosion resistance to seawater is achieved. The addition of tin also gives the alloy an inherent resistance to dezincification, thereby further inhibiting the impingement by seawater at higher than normal temperatures. The alloy is also noted for its resistance to wear, fatigue, galling, and stress corrosion cracking.
Typical Uses for C46400 Naval Brass "Lead Free":
C51000 Phosphor Bronze alloy possess a higher yield strength than is readily available in most cast products. Typical applications for phosphor bronze include bearings, bushings, gears, pinions, shafts, thrust washers and valve parts. C51000 Phosphor bronze can be readily brazed or soldered. Capacity for being cold worked is good.
Typical Uses for C51000 Phosphor Bronze "5% A":
Typical Uses for C52400 Phosphor Bronze "10% D":
C54400 Phosphor Bronze is the finest bearing alloy that the industry has to offer. It is an extremely machinable alloy that is equalled by few in the wrought metal industry as a bearing alloy. When annealed, this metal can be bent, formed, blanked, and stamped.
Typical Uses for C54400 Phosphor Bronze "B-2" "Free Cutting":
C63000 (AMS 4640) Nickel Aluminum Bronze alloy is an excellent choice for applications involving heavy loads, abrasive wear resistant, friction, abrasive wear and corrosion. The addition of nickel increases the alloys strength without diminishing its excellent ductility, toughness and corrosion resistance. Typical applications for C63000 nickel aluminum bronze included aircraft landing gear components, strut bearings, main pistons, trunnion bearings and similar vital components.
Typical Uses for C63000 Nickel Aluminum Bronze:
High ductility, high electrical and thermal conductivity, high impact strength, good creep resistance, ease of welding, and low volatility under high vacuum.
A special heat treatment process improves the mechanical properties beyond the range of commercial aluminum bronzes. This alloy is an extra high strength version of nickel aluminum bronze. It is used where parts require extra high strength and hardness with some ductility and toughness. Typical applications include rock bit bearing bushings and washers involving heavy loads, abrasion and high deformation. The extra high strength characteristics provide extreme wear resistance for extreme loads, abrasive wear, such as BOP parts, and wellhead compone
