Paint 47 contains minimum performance requirements for a fluoropolymer topcoat, based on resistance to either natural weathering in an exposure site such as south Florida, or accelerated weathering using a fluorescent/UVB condensation apparatus and UVB 313 lamps. The evaluation requirements include minimum requirements for color and gloss retention and a maximum permissible amount of chalking. In addition, the standard contains minimum adhesion requirements and, for highly crosslinked topcoat formulations, a solvent resistance requirement.
