Century Spring Corp. FL and MFL Series Disc Springs MFL-10078S

Description
A disc spring (sometimes called a "Belleville washer" after the inventor) consists primarily of a convex disc supported at the outer periphery by one force and an opposing force on the center of the disc. Disc springs are used singly, or in stacks, to achieve a desired load and travel. The advantage of a disc spring is that it generates high force in a very short spring length and with minimal movement when compressed. All Century Spring disc springs are subject to exacting manufacturing and quality control standards. All discs are preset so that they will not significantly relax under load over time. Century Spring also offers pre-stressed disc springs specifically sized for use with bolts.

The MFL-10078S disc spring from Century Spring Corp. is designed for use in bolted joints that experience thermal or mechanical shock. It compensates for looseness in these joints, helping to maintain tightness under varying conditions. This spring is particularly suitable for applications in piping construction, compression joints, and connections in the petrochemical industry. Constructed from 17-7 PH stainless steel, the MFL-10078S has a hardness rating of RC 38-43 and operates effectively within a temperature range of -220¬8 C to +300¬8 C. The spring has a nominal bolt size of M10 and can withstand a load of 11,000 lbs at flat. Its dimensions include an outer diameter of 2.00 inches, an inner diameter of 1.30 inches, and a thickness of 0.30 inches. The spring is designed to absorb peak stresses, thereby protecting the bolt, gasket, and joint from damage due to unexpected temperature variations and mechanical shocks.
