The MTE RL Line/Load & MOV product combines reactor and metal-oxide varistor (MOV) technologies to provide enhanced surge and spike protection for variable speed drive and inverter applications. It is designed for installation on the input side of variable speed controllers, protecting against power line spikes, voltage transients, and lightning effects. This product is factory assembled and prewired, requiring only the connection of three incoming and three outgoing conductors, along with a ground connection. The reactor absorbs current surges, while the MOV clamps voltage spikes, optimizing protection for electronic controller circuits. The reactor also extends the life of the MOV by reducing the energy content of spikes before they reach the MOV module. Typical applications include adjustable speed drives, SCR controllers, rectifier circuits, elevator drive systems, machine tool controls, industrial controls, packaging equipment, and printing presses. The product operates at a maximum voltage of 600 volts AC and is suitable for 50/60 Hz systems.
