The MP3373GY is an 8-channel step-up LED driver designed for driving white LED arrays in large LCD panel backlighting applications. It operates within an input voltage range of 9V to 40V and features programmable switching frequency, allowing for flexibility in design. The device achieves a current matching accuracy of 1.2% between LED strings, which is beneficial for uniform brightness across the display. This LED driver includes several protective features such as open/short LED protection, inductor/diode short protection, and thermal shutdown, ensuring reliable operation. The phase shift PWM dimming mode helps to manage inrush current and reduce component stress. The MP3373GY is available in a SOIC-28 package and can be configured to extend LED channels by paralleling multiple ICs while sharing a single power stage.
