MP171GS-P is a primary-side regulator designed for offline low-power applications, featuring accurate constant voltage regulation without the need for an opto-coupler. It supports multiple topologies including buck, boost, buck-boost, and flyback, making it versatile for various applications such as home appliances and standby power. The device integrates a 700 V MOSFET, which simplifies the design and reduces costs. With a maximum output power of 2 W and an output current capability of up to 60 mA, the MP171GS-P is optimized for efficiency, particularly at light loads due to its green-mode operation. It includes several protection features such as thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout, overload protection, short-circuit protection, and open-loop protection, enhancing its reliability in operation. The product is available in both TSOT23-5 and SOIC-8 packages. However, it is noted that the MP171 is not recommended for new designs, with a suggestion to refer to the MP171A for newer applications.
