The Minco Embedment Thermocouple TC102962TG144E is designed for monitoring the temperature of thrust bearings in hazardous environments, certified for use in Zone 2, Group IIC areas. It operates within a temperature range of -50 to 200¬8C (-58 to 392¬8F), which reduces to 125¬8C (257¬8F) when using elastomer-filled cable. The thermocouple features a tin-plated copper alloy case and a factory-applied babbitt tip, which helps prevent overheating when installed in a babbitt layer. The sensor includes stranded copper leads with PTFE insulation, and options for stainless steel braid or elastomer-filled cables are available for enhanced durability. With a time constant of 3.0 seconds in moving water and a minimum insulation resistance of 10 megohms at 100 VDC, this thermocouple is suitable for applications requiring reliable and rapid temperature response in compact spaces.
Minco embedment thermocouples are physically interchangeable with Minco embedment RTDs and feature four tin plated copper alloy case styles to meet a variety of installation options, including: spring loading or potting in drilled holes and a factory applied babbitt metal tip to reduce overheating of the sensors when installed in babbitt layer. They also feature standard thermocouple wire options of PTFE thermocouple wire, PTFE thermocouple wire with a stainless steel overbraid for added durability or PTFE thermocouple wire with stainless steel braid and an overall Teflon sleeve filled with elastomer for rugged cable that prevents migration of oil along the cable.
