The Minco Embedment Thermocouple TC102960TU144EB0 is designed for monitoring the temperature of thrust bearings in hazardous environments, certified for use in Zone 2, Group IIC areas. It operates within a temperature range of -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F), which reduces to 125°C (257°F) when using elastomer-filled cable. The thermocouple features a tin-plated copper alloy case and a factory-applied babbitt tip on select case styles to minimize overheating risks when embedded in babbitt layers. The leads are constructed from stranded copper with PTFE insulation, with optional stainless steel braid and elastomer fill for enhanced durability. The time constant is approximately 3.0 seconds in moving water, and the insulation resistance is a minimum of 10 megohms at 100 VDC from leads to case. This product is suitable for applications requiring reliable temperature monitoring in confined spaces and harsh conditions.
Minco embedment thermocouples are physically interchangeable with Minco embedment RTDs and feature four tin plated copper alloy case styles to meet a variety of installation options, including: spring loading or potting in drilled holes and a factory applied babbitt metal tip to reduce overheating of the sensors when installed in babbitt layer. They also feature standard thermocouple wire options of PTFE thermocouple wire, PTFE thermocouple wire with a stainless steel overbraid for added durability or PTFE thermocouple wire with stainless steel braid and an overall Teflon sleeve filled with elastomer for rugged cable that prevents migration of oil along the cable.
