The AS7414PE260Z4A0X0X is a flameproof RTD sensor designed for use in hazardous areas classified as Zone 1 or Zone 2. It is compliant with IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN 60079-1 standards, as well as the ATEX directive 94/9/EC, making it suitable for environments where explosive atmospheres may be present. The sensor features a tip-sensitive probe made from stainless steel or magnesium oxide (MgO) for rapid temperature response, with a temperature range of -50 to 260°C (-58 to 500°F). The construction includes a spring-loaded holder that ensures optimal contact with the measured surface, and it is available with U.S. or metric threads. The connection head is made from 316 stainless steel with an IP66 rating, while alternative options include aluminum alloy and epoxy-coated aluminum. The sensor can withstand a pressure rating of 50 psi (3.4 bar) for the spring-loaded holder and 100 psi (6.9 bar) for the fluid seal fitting. Insulation resistance is rated at a minimum of 100 megohms at 100 VDC. The time constant for the sensor varies based on the type: single element probes have a time constant of 1.5 seconds, dual element probes 7 seconds, and all stainless or MgO filled probes 10 seconds. Special options for higher temperature ranges are also available. This product is suitable for applications requiring reliable temperature measurement in hazardous environments.
Hazardous area rated temperature assemblies provide fast and accurate readings of bearings, blocks, frames, other surfaces, fluids or flows. Minco’s spring loaded holder ensures solid contact in drilled holes and has a built-in oil seal. The sensing probe features a copper alloy tip for quick response to temperature changes. Choose a thermowell option for high pressure or flow applications. Hazardous protection methods include explosion proof, flameproof and intrinsic safety methods.
