The AS7204PD102Z4S0X0X is a flameproof RTD sensor designed for use in hazardous areas classified as Zone 1 or Zone 2. It is compliant with IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN 60079-1 standards, as well as the ATEX directive 94/9/EC, making it suitable for environments where explosive atmospheres may be present. The sensor features a tip-sensitive probe made of stainless steel or magnesium oxide (MgO) for rapid temperature response, with a temperature range of -50 to 260¬8C (-58 to 500¬8F). The construction includes a spring-loaded holder that ensures optimal contact with the measured surface, and it is available with various connection head options, including 316 stainless steel and aluminum alloy, providing different levels of ingress protection (IP65 to IP66). The sensor can withstand pressure ratings of up to 100 psi (6.9 bar) and has an insulation resistance of at least 100 megohms at 100 VDC. The time constant for temperature readings varies based on the probe type, with single element probes responding in approximately 1.5 seconds. Special options for higher temperature ranges are also available.
