The construction features a stainless steel probe with a copper alloy tip, ensuring effective heat transfer, and a fitting made of stainless steel with a silicone rubber O-ring for sealing. The connection head can be made from cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel. The time constant for the RTD in moving water is approximately 2.0 seconds for a single element and 5.0 seconds for a dual element. Insulation resistance is a minimum of 100 megohms at 100 VDC. The device includes a terminal block for wire connections up to AWG 14.
